Description
-
The Asian/Pacific 1980 Calendar, created by the Asian and Pacific Islander Student Union (APSU) at UC Berkeley, is a cultural and political calendar designed to educate, mobilize, and celebrate Asian Pacific American communities. Produced in the wake of the Bakke v. UC Regents decision that weakened affirmative action, the calendar pairs artwork with short historical narratives about cultural traditions. It serves as both a form of cultural preservation and a tool for political awareness.
